We are looking for an experienced Assistant Pastry Chef to join our onboard team.
Primary Responsibility of the Role:
•Preparing dishes in collaboration with colleagues and in respect of designated recipes;
•Performing duties under the guidance of superiors and following instructions;
•Ensuring that preparation and presentation of food is up to the existing standards at all times;
•Ensuring compliance with the latest ShipSan, HACCPand/or USPH regulations;
•Ensuring the proper and safe use of equipment;
•Ensuring that all logs of the station are updated as outlined in the Health & Hygiene Manuals;
•Ensuring safe and clean workplace with focus on employee health and fire prevention;
•Assisting with loading and inventory of supplies;
•Performing other duties assigned by superiors.
Position Requirements:
- Culinary school diploma;
- At least one year of culinary experience;
- Experience in same or similar position on board is an advantage;
- Good verbal and written command of the English language, knowledge of any other language is a plus;
- Good knowledge of ShipSan, HACCP and/or USPH regulations;
- Ability of multitasking and work efficiently under pressure;
- Good communication, interpersonal and social skills;
- Certification as stipulated by STCW 95.
