Job Summary:
The Corporate Compliance and Privacy Officer will be a multi-faceted compliance and ethics professional that assists with carrying out the functions of the Wellstar corporate compliance program. The Officer will investigate matters of reported and/or suspected compliance and privacy violations. The Officer will serve as a subject matter expert regarding health care regulatory compliance on the state and federal level. The Officer will be responsible for regulatory monitoring to determine the impact of new statutes, regulations, and industry trends within the regulatory compliance arena. The Officer will also develop and implement compliance/privacy policies, procedures, and education materials to ensure Wellstar employees and contractors are educated and trained regarding compliance and privacy regulatory requirements. This individual is the primary point of contact for hospital and medical group leadership for their assigned areas.Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
1. Compliance and Privacy InvestigationsConduct investigations into compliance and privacy incidents reported through the company compliance and privacy [link removed] proper case documentation and closure of each [link removed] and interview relevant subject matters as necessary during an [link removed] collaboratively with department and service line leaders as well as other relevant staff to appropriately respond to reported [link removed] findings of investigations and provides recommendations to address compliance and privacy [link removed] and maintain documentation for investigative tools and develop corrective action plans as deemed [link removed] the ability to work with sensitive information and maintain [link removed] effectively with internal and external stakeholders and promotes the reputation and integrity of the Wellstar Compliance [link removed] Research/Policies and Proceduresa. Regulatory Research:Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws and accreditation [link removed] regulations and regulatory guidance materials to determine applicability within WellStars [link removed] with Executive Director, Corporate Compliance, and key departments to meetWellStars business needs and provide world-class patient care within the parameters of state and federal requirements.b. Policies and Procedures:Develops and revises compliance/privacy policies and procedures to reflect current laws, regulations, and [link removed] with key departments, committees, legal counsel, and management to ensure that WellStar has and maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality consent, authorization forms, and information notices and materials reflecting current WellStar practices and requirements.c. Serves as a resource to provide guidance to the Regional Compliance team regarding compliance/privacy investigations, questions, and other compliance matters within WellStars [link removed] as a resource to provide guidance to all WellStar personnel regarding the appropriate uses and disclosures of protected health information, patient privacy rights, and regulatory compliance [link removed] Education Program Development and Maintenancea. Analyze regulatory requirements, industry trends and WellStar incident/complaint trends.b. Develop compliance and privacy education materials based on regulatory requirements, industry trends and in response to incident [link removed] presentation materialsA. Coordinate presentation of orientation materials for New Employee Orientation, New Leader Orientation, New Provider Orientation, [link removed] other duties as assignedComplies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.Required Minimum Education:
- Bachelors Health Administration or Bachelors Other or Masters Law-Preferred

Minimum 5 years experience in healthcare compliance. RequiredRequired Minimum Skills:
