Simplified Chinese - Language Specialist

Thermo Fisher Scientific Language Services is looking for aSimplified ChineseLanguage Specialist with experience in clinical translation and quality assurance to join the internal team. Essential functions would include:

  • Coordinating and managing the final quality of assigned translations to ensure ahigh qualitystandard.

  • Running language assets,[link removed] memories,terminologyand style guides:

  • Performing occasional linguistic tasks includinginitialtranslation, revision, client feedback implementation

  • Performing quality checks on clinical translations (ICFs, protocols, IBs, patient diaries, etc.).

  • Developing andmaintainingterminology and style guides for the language

  • EnsuringSimplified Chinesetranslation memories are updated.

  • Setting and executing linguistic quality assuranceprocessfor the assigned language globally asrequired.

  • Using CAT technology tomonitorquality of outsourced language translations and external suppliers.

  • Analyzing language quality issues and working on any quality improvement plans withprojectmanagement team.

Bachelor's degree in translations,linguisticsor language studies with significant translation studies from a recognized higher educationinstitution.

Bachelor's degree in another field and 2 years of full-time translation experience (preferred in clinical translation).

Preferred Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities:

Native Language:Simplified Chinese

CAT/TMS Tool Experience Required

Proven Terminology and TM experiencerequired

Proven skills of multi-tasking, time management, organization, and attention to detail

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Proficiencyin MS Office suite
