The University of the Cumberlandsiscurrently seeking candidates foradjunct faculty toteach undergraduatepolitical sciencecourses online. Under the direction of the Chair of theHistory and Political Sciencedepartment,this position is responsible for teaching undergraduatePolitical [link removed] University of the Cumberlands is a faith-based institution that welcomes students from all backgrounds. Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for teaching onlinepolitical sciencecourses, which include but are not limited to:
POLS 131: Introduction to Political Science
POLS 233: American National Government
POLS 235: Introduction to International Affairs
Collaborate with colleagues in theHistory and Political Sciencedepartment and throughout the university.
Adapt and align course materials using departmental syllabus templates, required text(s), and other resources.
Provide regular and timely feedback on student work.
Maintain regular communication with students through virtual office hours and e-mail.
Maintain clear, consistent records iniLearn(Blackboard) and UC One (Workday).
Participate in department-wide assessments.
Respond to student evaluations.
Follow university policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Mastersdegree in political science.
Student-focused teaching that addresses the needs of all learners, both traditional and nontraditional.
Ongoing professional development.
Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD inPolitical Science.
Experience in teaching and/or developing online courses inPolitical Science.
Experience with a variety of pedagogical and technological educational delivery methods.
Compensation: Commensurate with expertise and experience
