Job description

This is a remote position.

The Advisory Board Member will serve a vital role in guiding the strategic direction of Barks & Rec. As a volunteer position, the individual will not have a formal employee relationship with Barks & Rec or its partners but is expected to actively contribute in monthly virtual meetings and company events. This role requires a deep understanding of the culture, nuances, and trends among both the local and global furry, kink, and LGBTQIA+ communities. Passion, heart, and drive are the core skills that Advisors bring to the table, preferably with demonstrated expertise in a subject matter area related to DEI, finance, legal, tech, business, marketing, communications, or event operations.

Requirements

Participate in most weekly virtual meetings, scheduled Wednesdays from 8pm to 9pm, to offer insights, guidance, and [link removed] in most post-event virtual retrospective meetings, scheduled a few days after each Barks & Rec event from 8pm to 9pm.[link removed]Serve a tenure of one year, with the possibility of extension or renewal based on performance, engagement, and the discretion of the Barks & Rec [link removed] engage in the majority of Barks & Rec's events, enhancing relationships within the community and fostering an environment conducive to diversity, inclusion, and Barks & Rec's [link removed] in-depth knowledge of local and global community dynamics to provide valuable advice that contributes to the strategic direction of Barks & [link removed] the highest level of professionalism and [link removed] to constructive discussions, leveraging excellent written and verbal communication [link removed] up-to-date with relevant industry trends and developments that may impact Barks & Rec's [link removed] in developing and maintaining a positive image and reputation for Barks & Rec both within the local community and [link removed] from making legally binding decisions or commitments on behalf of Barks & Rec, its attendees, or its [link removed] committed to Barks & Rec's goals, mission, and values throughout the tenure, serving as an ambassador for the company in a non-official capacity.
