Director, Analytics

Role Overview

Direct Travel is seeking a Director of Analytics to lead the strategic direction, architecture, and delivery of its global analytics platform. The platform serves internal stakeholders and thousands of clients worldwide, making it a critical investment for the company. The ideal candidate has a hands-on technical background, experience in leading analytics engineering teams, and a proven track record of delivering production analytics products.

What You Will Do

The Director of Analytics will define and execute the multi-year roadmap for the global analytics platform, drive the end-to-end delivery of analytics data products, and establish standards for data lifecycle management. They will also serve as a senior technical authority on analytics architecture decisions, provide hands-on guidance on query performance tuning, and lead the design of bespoke data products.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
• 5+ years in a leadership role directly managing and growing analytics or data engineering teams
• Proven track record of personally delivering production analytics products
• Demonstrated experience recruiting, hiring, and developing analytics engineering talent
• Senior-level fluency in cloud data warehouses (Snowflake), cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), and analytics & BI platforms (Looker, LookML)
• Expert-level SQL skills, experience with semantic modeling, and hands-on experience with dbt
• Strong proficiency in Python, working knowledge of additional languages (R, Scala, Java), and solid understanding of the software development lifecycle
