The role

Job description

Website Designer

Position Type: Full-Time, Remote
Working Hours: U.S. Client Business Hours
Location: Remote (LATAM, South Africa, Philippines, Pakistan Preferred)

About the Role

We’re hiring a creative and technically capable Website Designer to build modern, responsive, and conversion-focused websites across multiple CMS platforms.

This role combines visual design, front-end implementation, and website optimization. You’ll be responsible for designing layouts, building pages inside platforms like WordPress and Webflow, customizing websites with HTML/CSS, and ensuring websites are optimized for performance, SEO, responsiveness, and user experience.

This is not purely a graphic design role — we’re looking for someone who can both design and implement websites while balancing aesthetics, usability, and technical performance.

The ideal candidate has a strong eye for design, understands website conversion principles, and is comfortable working independently across multiple website projects in a fast-paced remote environment.

What You’ll Own

Website Design & UI Layouts

  • Create wireframes, mockups, and responsive website designs using Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
    • Design modern landing pages, marketing sites, and website layouts aligned with brand identity
    • Translate visual concepts into clean, user-friendly website experiences
    • Ensure consistency in typography, spacing, visual hierarchy, and design systems

CMS Development & Website Builds

  • Build and customize websites on WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, or Squarespace
    • Customize templates, themes, and layouts using HTML, CSS, and light JavaScript
    • Configure plugins, integrations, forms, tracking tools, and widgets
    • Maintain organized website structures and scalable CMS implementations

Website Optimization & SEO

  • Optimize websites for mobile responsiveness, accessibility, and fast loading speeds
    • Implement SEO best practices including metadata, image optimization, heading structures, and schema basics
    • Run speed and performance audits using Lighthouse, GTmetrix, or Google PageSpeed Insights
    • Improve website usability and conversion-focused user experiences

Testing, QA & Maintenance

  • Test websites across devices, browsers, and screen sizes
    • Troubleshoot formatting issues, plugin conflicts, and responsiveness problems
    • Maintain website updates, backups, and general platform maintenance
    • Ensure websites remain secure, stable, and fully functional

Collaboration & Content Coordination

  • Work closely with marketing, content, and leadership teams on website updates and campaigns
    • Incorporate feedback efficiently while maintaining design quality and consistency
    • Support landing page creation for marketing campaigns and lead generation initiatives
    • Organize and maintain design assets and reusable website components

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Strong design eye combined with technical website implementation skills
    • Comfortable balancing aesthetics, performance, SEO, and usability
    • Organized and detail-oriented with strong QA discipline
    • Proactive and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
    • Strong communicator who collaborates effectively with marketing and content teams
    • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Required Experience & Skills

  • 2+ years of professional website design experience
    • Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
    • Experience building websites on WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, or Squarespace

• Strong HTML and CSS skills

  • Experience optimizing websites for mobile responsiveness and performance
    • Strong understanding of modern website UI/UX principles

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Shopify or WooCommerce e-commerce websites
    • Basic JavaScript or front-end development knowledge
    • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and SEO tools
    • Experience working with SaaS companies, agencies, or e-commerce brands
    • Understanding of landing page optimization and conversion-focused design
